CAPE GIRARDEAU — The Poplar Bluff Mules stay perfect in SEMO conference play as they picked up a win on the road Tuesday.

The Mules faced off against the Notre Dame Bulldogs, and after a surge with nine runs in the fifth inning, they defeated the Bulldogs 11-1. The Mules improved to 11-5 on the season and remain undefeated in the SEMO conference.

The Mules opened the scoring in the second after Noah Spain grounded out, scoring one run. After a slow-paced game on both sides, the Mules would catch a burst of energy in the fifth inning from the plate to extend their lead and ultimately win the game.

Rylan Seesengood kicked the run off when he singled, scoring one run. Dylan Hall singled, scoring one run, Kade Huffman was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Noah Spain drew a walk, scoring one run, Dylan Bratcher was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Brandt Bell drew a walk, scoring one run, Seesengood drew a walk, scoring one run, Hall drew a walk, scoring one run and Bryce Dobbs was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Bratcher continues to make plays from the mound as he earned the win for Poplar Bluff. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking one. TJ Bolen took the loss for Notre Dame. The starting pitcher went four innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking one.

Kolby Greenwall, Myles Johnson and Huffman each collected two hits for the Mules. Hall, Seesengood, Huffman and Spain each drove in two runs. The Mules had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game.

Jack Evans and Brycen Clark each collected one hit for Notre Dame Bulldogs while hitting back-to-back. Reid Morgan led the team with one run batted in.

Next up for the Mules is a game against Cape Central Tigers on Friday.
