Saxony Lutheran (7-7) scored 10 runs across the first two innings to pave the way to a 15-6 win on the road against Perryville (2-17).
For the Crusaders, Myra Roth dominated the game with three hits, three RBIs, and three runs scored after hitting for a single, a double, and a triple. Lilly Roth’s two-hit, four-RBI game led the way in run production, while Shyanne Weibrecht reached base four times with a hit and three walks.
Jenna Brewer and Kylee Stortz had two hits each in the loss, while Rhylee Wengert batted in four runs in the game with a three-run double in the second inning.
Saxony Lutheran next plays at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Jefferson (5-9) in Festus, Mo. Perryville next hosts DeSoto (4-8) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
__VOLLEYBALL: Scott City rebounds with Charleston sweep__
Scott City (7-6-2) took care of business with a sweep of Charleston (1-11-1) on Tuesday night, dominating the Blue Jays with set wins at 25-16, 25-12, and 25-8.
Ramsey Spinks’ 27 assists led the Rams in offensive production in the win. Alyssa Dirden finished on 15 kills, with Maggie Jones putting in another five.
Both Scott City and Charleston next participate in the SEMO Conference Tournament beginning on Thursday.
__TENNIS: Oakville pounces on Jackson in regular-season finale__
Oakville (6-7) took the reins against Jackson (11-8-1) on Tuesday, traveling to take a 7-2 win against the Indians in the last match of the 2023 regular season.
Ava Nipper grabbed the only singles win of the day for Jackson. Her pairing with Bailey Rees gave the Indians another win on the doubles court, but the team couldn’t keep the pace with a historically tough Oakville team.
Jackson begins postseason play on the road, traveling to play at 3:30 p.m. on Monday at Lindbergh (9-4) in St. Louis.
