The Chaffee Red Devils defeated Van Buren 14-0 on Thursday at Chaffee High School. Chaffee used a 12-run second inning to put the Bulldogs away.

Reese Van Pelt led the Red Devils with a 1-2 day with three RBIs and reached base on balls twice. In the circle, Carlyanne Cossou started for Chaffee and went four innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Bailey Robertson came in for relief and struck out two batters for the win.

Chaffee will compete in the Notre Dame Showcase this weekend.

__Baseball: Oran run rules Bloomfield to stay undefeated__

The Oran Eagles defeated the Bloomfield Wildcats 10-0 on Thursday at Oran High School.

Oran was led on offense by Tyler Brashear who went 2-3 with two RBIs while six other Eagles added an RBI apiece. On the mound for Oran, it was a “Burger Combo” as Gabriel Dirnberger and Kole Burger combined for 13 strikeouts and allowed just two hits.

Oran will host Leopold at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

__Tennis: Saxony Lutheran sweeps Charleston, moves to 4-0__

The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders defeated the Charleston Blue Jays 9-0 on Thursday at the John C. Bierk Redhawks Tennis Complex at SEMO.

In singles play, Abby Haley and Evie Caruso both won their matches 8-0 and in doubles play each match was a clean 8-0 victory for the Crusaders.

Saxony will travel to Cape Central and take on the Tigers at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

__Volleyball: Leopold upsets Bell City at Woodland Invitational__

The fifth-seeded Leopold defeated top-seeded Bell City on Thursday in five sets in the Woodland Invitational Tournament. The win puts the Wildcats into the championship against Perryville on Friday night at 7:30 p.m, Bell City will play

Woodland for third place at 6 p.m.

Leopold was led on offense by Ava Jansen with eight kills and Ashtyn Van de Ven with 26 assists. The defense was led by Addison Engelen with 17 blocks and Piper Lincoln with four digs.

__Meadow Heights 3, Greenville 0__

The Meadow Heights Panthers defeated the Greenville Bears 3-0 on Thursday in the Woodland Invitational Tournament. The victory earned Meadow Heights a spot in the consolation championship Friday against Oak Ridge at 4:30 p.m.

The offense of the Panthers was led by Cheyenne Tonjum with nine kills and Leah Carlson with 28 assists. On defense, Meadow Heights was anchored by Madisen Denman with eight digs.

__Cape Central 3, Perryville 0__

The Cape Central Tigers defeated the Perryville Pirates 3-0 on Thursday at Perryville High School.

The Tigers were led on offense by Madison Phelps with 12 kills and Avery Criblez with 14 assists. The defense of Cape was led by Ella Hukel with 13 digs and Sydney Miller with three blocks.

Cape Central will host Dexter on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. while Perryville will take a week off before the North County Varsity Tournament next weekend.
