Meadow Heights (13-5) used a big first quarter to take down Chaffee (14-7) by a score of 52-42 at home on Monday night.
Rachael Hellebusch led the scoring for Meadow Heights with 19 points along with 10 rebounds. Ashley Allen (17), Madisen Denman (10) and Jaycee Shelton (6) all made additional scoring contributions for the Panthers.
Malinah Robertson led the Red Devils in points with 15, followed by Ayne’ Held (13), Zoe Bentley (7), Rayney Held (4) and Hailey Rains (3).
Meadow Heights next hosts Oak Ridge (7-10) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Chaffee next plays at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Portageville (16-5).
__BBB: Meadow Heights 65, Leopold 52__
Meadow Heights (11-9) opened the Mississippi Valley Conference tournament with a sizeable win against Leopold (6-12) on Monday night, winning 65-52.
Senior guard Will Green led the scoring for the Panthers with a game-high 21 points. Koby Cook (13), Braeden Hays (11), Damion Hulbert (8), Ransom Grindstaff (8), Jayden Burr (2) and Cayden Bess (2) all further contributed to the scoring for Meadow Heights.
Keegan Deck led the scoring for Leopold with 15 points in the loss, scoring five field goals on the night. Joshua Horrell (12), Braden Halter (8), Austin Broshuis (4), Willey Retz (4), Klete Beel (4), James Engelen (3) and Michael Wolfe (2) all chipped in to a deep scoring effort for Leopold.
Both teams continue to play in the Mississippi Valley Conference throughout the week.

Oran (12-6) used a balanced scoring effort to blow by Woodland (6-14) at home on Monday night.
Oran senior Haley Webb led the team with 16 points on seven field goals, followed by scoring contributions from Grace Davis (13), Emma Priggel (9), Bralynn Morgan (9), Kendall Burger (3) and Taylor Hobbs (2).
Caroline Rhodes led Woodland with 15 points scored, followed by Mallary Barks (5), Tallie Johnson (5), Sarah Wilkinson (3), Rhodie Long (2), Maci McIntyre (1) and Carrie Long (1).
Oran next hosts Poplar Bluff (7-11) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Woodland next hosts Advance (4-14) at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
__GBB: South Iron 70, Jackson 55__
South Iron (18-2) used a big first half to cruise to a 70-55 win at home against Jackson (12-5) on Monday night.
Senior wing Katie Waller led the Indians with 16 points scored in the loss. Holland Guilliams (13), Nadia Wasilewski (10), Maci Wendel (8), Camryn Alsdorf (5) and Payton Gannon (3) all made scoring contributions for the Indians.
Jackson is next in action at home against Poplar Bluff (7-11) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
__GBB: Scott City 61, Oak Ridge 42__
Scott City (13-7) outscored the hosting Oak Ridge Bluejays (7-10) by 19 in the third quarter to take a 61-42 win on Monday night.
Sophomore Reagan Howe led the scoring for Oak Ridge, scoring 26 points to pair with 11 rebounds. Abby Morrison (8) and Madyson Ruehling (8) also appeared in the scoring column for the Bluejays.
Oak Ridge next plays at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Meadow Heights (13-5), while Scott City hosts Meadow Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
__GBB: Holcomb 60, Advance 51__
Holcomb (12-9) got the most of Advance (4-14) on the road on Monday night, using Maleigh Lemings’ 26 points en route to a 60-51 victory.
Kaylee Cline led the Hornets in scoring with 15 points in the loss. Jaydan Miller (14), Maggie Stubenrauch (12), Harley Daniels (8) and Lexi Hoffman (2) all made contributions on the scoreboard for a balanced Advance offense.
Advance next plays at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Woodland (6-14).
