The Notre Dame boys’ golf team opened its season up with a win in the Central Quad, finishing with a team score of 166, six strokes under host Cape Central’s 172 and 27 strokes under Saxony Lutheran’s 193.
On the Cape Country Club’s nine with a par of 35, Notre Dame’s Peyton DeLine finished with a 5-over score of 40, first among golfers on Monday. Teammate Luke Gilmore finished right behind him with a score of 41.
Clayton McClard and Garrett Schmidt of Cape Central both led the Tigers with 7-over scores of 42, while Notre Dame’s Thursten Edwards tied the two in third place for Notre Dame.
Saxony Lutheran’s Mike Hasz led the Crusaders on Monday, shooting a 9-over 44 to finish in eighth place.
