~ The Tigers tied the game with two out in the ninth inning and later won 6-5 on a throwing error

The Southeast Missouri State baseball team hadn't trailed or committed an error throughout the first 10 innings against the University of Missouri on Tuesday night.

But an error in the bottom of the 11th allowed the Tigers to defeat the Redhawks 6-5 at Taylor Stadium in Columbia, Mo.

Mizzou designated hitter Eric Anderson tried to stretch his one-out hit into a triple, and scored the winning run when shortstop Andy Lack's throw went into the stands.

Anderson had tied the game at 5-5 with a two-out, two-RBI double in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings.

The Redhawks held a 2-0 lead after three innings.

Third baseman Andy Lennington's base hit in the first scored Cole Bieser and designated hitter Derek Gibson singled to score Matt Tellor in the third.

Mizzou left fielder Dillon Everett homered in the fourth to cut it to 2-1, and the Redhawks' lead would fluctuate throughout the rest of the game.

Right fielder Dalton Hewitt drew a leadoff walk in the sixth and later scored on a wild pitch to extend Southeast's lead to 3-1.

The Tigers countered with a run in the seventh, but second baseman Jason Blum drove in the Redhawks' fourth run in the eighth.

A single scored a run for Mizzou (20-24) in the bottom of the inning.

Gibson countered with Southeast's final run on a solo home run to right field in the ninth.

Gibson extended his hitting streak to 21 games. He and Tellor both were 3 for 6, while Lennington was 3 for 5.

Greg Mosel (2-3) took the loss on the mound. Andrew Schaab (1-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings and did not allow a run for the win.

Southeast starter Tyler Iago pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

The Redhawks dropped to 29-15 with the loss.
