Southeast's Freddy Lopez hit a rocket up the middle that second baseman Cooper Osteen couldn't handle to record his first career hit and drive in his first Southeast run.

Stephen Head, the reigning Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, responded in the Rebels' half of the inning with a two-run home run. It was his fourth home run of the year and his fourth game with at least four RBI this season.

Senior Bill Clayton (0-1) suffered the loss for the Indians. Clayton allowed seven runs on four hits and six walks in just two innings of work.

Mississippi has won 17 straight against OVC teams.
