Plaza Tire avenged last week's loss to the St. Louis Golden Spikes.
A week ago the Plaza Tire Capahas dropped a 7-5 decision on the road to the St. Louis Golden Spikes, as the Capahas were outhit 12-9.
The Capahas traveled to St. Louis again Wednesday to take on the Spikes. This time, Plaza Tire didn't even need that much offense, as starter Jamie McCallister threw his second no-hitter of the season in a 13-0, seven-inning victory.
Plaza Tire improved to 14-4.
McCallister had a perfect game going until he hit the first batter in the seventh. In all, McCallister struck out 10 and allowed just one runner.
"Every time he's gone out there, he's thrown great," Capahas manager Jess Bolen said.
The Capahas hammered 17 hits in the rout. Bryan Ingram and Tom Bolen each had three hits, as Bolen came a home run short of the cycle.
Robby Moore, Lance Seasor and Josh Eftink had two hits apiece. Eftink had a home run. Seth Hudson added a three-RBI double.
"We pounded out 17 hits with wooden bats, that's unusual," Bolen said.
Plaza Tire will host the Wichita (Kan.) Broncs, a traditional national powerhouse, for a three-game series starting Saturday night at Capaha Field.
