MARTIN, Tenn. -- Jason Ohlsen capped a 19-point effort with a 12-foot, off-balance jumper with 4 seconds left Saturday night to lift Tennessee-Martin to a 74-73 victory over Murray State.
The Skyhawks (6-15, 4-10 Ohio Valley Conference) got 22 points from freshman Andrae Betts as they defeated the Racers (21-3, 13-1) for the first time in 17 meetings.
Murray State had taken a 73-72 lead with 37 seconds remaining when Rod Murray hit a 3-pointer.
Martin trailed 37-29 at the half and was down 43-29 with 16:50 to play after a basket by Murray's Duane Virgil.
The Skyhawks then outscored the Racers 25-9 and led 54-52 with 8:16 left after a Ohlsen hit his fourth 3-pointer of the rally.
Martin led 63-57 with 5:03 left after a layup by Betts, but Murray pulled even at 63 when Marlin Townes hit a jumper with 3:20 to play.
Murray State held the lead twice after Townes' basket, the last on Murray's 3-pointer.
Ryan DeMichael added 14 points to the Martin total and Joe Crumby finished with 10 points.
Aubry Reese topped Murray State with 22 points. Murray and Virgil each finished with 15 points.
Martin pulled off the upset despite being out-rebounded 41-17.
