PARK HILLS -- Marquand High's boys basketball team advanced to the consolation final of the Park Hills Tournament with a 69-59 win over South Iron Monday.

Dusty Stephens scored 28 points and pulled down 17 rebounds to lead the Tigers, who are now 6-5. Travis Braswell hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points while Steve Braswell added 14 and Billy Robbins had 10. Brandon Settle had 11 assists.

After a 30-30 halftime tie, the Tigers trailed 50-47 entering the fourth quarter. Marquand then outscored South Iron 22-9 in the final period.

"We had a good comeback," said Marquand coach Rob Harlow. "A big key was the defense Dusty Stephens did on Jared Lane, who is one of the best sophomores around. Lane had 14 points in the first half but Brandon held him to three in the second half."

Marquand will play either West County or Viburnum at 5 p.m today for the consolation title.
