LAS VEGAS -- The Southeast Missouri State University women's basketball team found itself overmatched against Louisiana Tech, the No. 2 team in the nation, and suffered a 96-54 loss in the first round of the Nevada-Las Vegas Tournament Saturday night.

Southeast fell to 1-3 on the season with the loss.

Louisiana Tech, which already owns a victory over No.

1 Tennessee this season, turned the game into a rout in the opening half, leading 60-31 by the intermission.

Paula Corder-King was the only Otahkian to score in double figures as she finished with 20 points. She sank 4 of 8 of her 3-point shot attempts.

Betty Lennox scored a game-high 21 points for Louisiana Tech, which improved to 2-1. Cheryl Ford added 14 points, Katrina Frierson netted 12 and Ayana Walker and Takiesha Lewis each tallied 10.

Louisiana Tech held a 45-27 rebounding advantage for the game.

Southeast will face the loser of the UNLV-Weber State game today in consolation action.
