The Kennett Middle School football teams will open the season Thursday with games at Sikeston.
The Indians will play seven games this season, with five of them at home at Metz Cherry Stadium.
Kennett athletic director James Vaughan noted some area schools have not been able to field a seventh-grade only team, and he’s still searching for one more opponent.
For the Sept. 28 home date versus Charleston, the eighth-grade game will be first followed by a seventh-grade game that will be composed of one half.
Logan Dollins serves as the Kennett head coach, with Jamie Massey, Kevin McCaig and Jack Lan Walls as the assistants.
