Lightning strike for OT victory over Blues 4-3

TAMPA, Fla. -- Vincent Lecavalier scored two goals, including the game-winner 3:29 into overtime, to lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Friday night.

Fredrik Modin added two goals, including a game-tying score late in the third period, for the Lightning.

Tampa Bay tied a franchise-record with its sixth straight home win.

Modin tied it on Tampa Bay's first shot of the third period with 2:48 left. Modin scored from close range off a backhand pass from Martin St. Louis.

Scott Mellanby gave the Blues a 3-2 lead with 8:41 left in the third period.

Mellanby's shot from near the right-wing boards deflected off the glove of goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin.

St. Louis has just one win (1-7-3-1) in it last 12 road games.

The Blues' Bryce Salvador tied the game at 2 at 8:02 of the third.

The Blues outshot the Lightning 13-0 in the first 15 minutes of the third period.

Lecavalier's power-play goal at 13:23 of the first period staked the Lightning to a 1-0 lead.

Modin gave Tampa Bay a 2-0 advantage at 16:45 of the second.

The Blues closed within a goal with 30.7 seconds left in the second when Cory Stillman scored a power play goal.
