Lesterville eliminates Zalma from Class 1 district baseball tourney

Lesterville profited from 12 walks and four errors by Zalma to post a 5-4 victory Friday in a play-in game of the Class 1 District 3 baseball tournament at Leopold.

Eighth-seeded Lesterville will face top-seeded Saxony Lutheran at 2 p.m. Monday.

Central sophomore Brad LaBruyere pitched three innings to improve to 8-2, as Central won at home Friday in its season finale.

Zac Hudson and Scott Brueckner had two hits apiece.
