FARMINGTON -- Cape Central took a liking to its Class 4A, District 1 site Tuesday with a convincing 68-23 victory over Farmington at the new Civic Center.
Central improved to 7-2 with the victory.
Nicole Thiele, 23 points, led three Central players in double figures. Laura Lukens added 12 points and Abby Harris tallied 10.
Central jumped out to a 21-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Lady Tigers led 34-20 at the break.
"I thought we played well in spurts," said Central coach Paula Watkins. "It was nice to get a win there. The district tournament is going to be at the Civic Center. It's a nice facility."
Elizabeth Kunz grabbed 16 rebounds for Central. "She's been doing an outstanding job on the boards," said Watkins.
Central returns to action Thursday at Poplar Bluff.
