Amberger took over for the Lady Pirates in the second half. The freshman scored eight of Perryville's 14 points in the third quarter to extend the lead to 45-34 entering the fourth quarter. She then carried the Lady Pirates to victory with 10 of their 14 points in the final period.

The Lady Pirates made 6-of-15 from the free-throw line, while the Dragons (11-14) made 11-of-21 free throws and were led by two players who had 10 points each.

The Lady Pirates improved their record to 17-8 for the second time in three years. With one more road game at Windsor to go on Feb. 21, before the Class 4 District 2 Tournament in Park Hills, Mo., Perryville has an opportunity to earn its 18th win for the first time in recent history.

Perryville has the second-best record in the district next to Park Hills Central (21-3), meaning the Lady Pirates will likely play for a rare district title.
