Southeast Missouri State catcher Jim Klocke now has the distinction of being the first three-time All-American in program history.

Klocke secured that accomplishment Friday when he was named to the Ping!Baseball All-American third team.

Klocke was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 31st round of last week's major league draft. He also recently was voted 2009-10 Ohio Valley Conference male athlete of the year.

Klocke, a four-year starter at catcher for Southeast, was named one of 16 semifinalists for the Johnny Bench Award, which is given to the top catcher in collegiate baseball.

Klocke, who ranks at or near the top on many of the program's career and single-season records lists, also was a first-team Academic All-American this year and the national Academic All-American of the year.

The Southeast volleyball program's incoming recruiting class has been recognized nationally.

Southeast's recruits were among 55 groups recognized as honorable mention by Prepvolleyball.com after the initial top 30 recruiting classes and 20 others were named highest honorable mention.

Jacksonville State joined the Redhawks as the only two teams from the Ohio Valley Conference to make the list.

Southeast's incoming five-player recruiting class includes the first pair of high school All-Americans in program history.

Outside hitter Andrea Baylin from Dublin, Ohio, was named to a pair of All-American teams, while outside hitter Colleen Yarber from Freeburg, Ill., made an All-American squad.
