The only high school game of the week last week did not turn out in favor of the team from Southeast Missouri, as Jackson lost 25-14 to Waynesville in the Class 5 state semifinal contest in Waynesville.

The Indians had opportunities, including one set up in the fourth quarter when junior defensive end Kevin Pridemore recovered Lyle Cox's fumble at the Waynesville 30-yard line after Matt Lang had stripped the ball from the Tigers quarterback.

Pridemore also had a tackle on Cox for a 5-yard loss in the third period, one of three tackles for a loss Jackson recorded in the game.

Pridemore, 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, came into the game with 56 tackles and five sacks. The fumble recovery was his third of the season, as he had two in the opening minutes of a win against Central.

Pridemore doubles as a tight end on offense.

"He's been a great player for us," Jackson coach Carl Gross said. "He had a solid season. He played both ways for us, which is tough to do with the positions he plays."
