BENTON -- Kelly held off a spirited charge by visiting Bell City Friday night as the Hawks claimed a hard-earned 59-46 victory in their final regular-season game Friday night.
The Hawks (23-3) led only 40-37 after three quarters but they outscored the Cubs (12-11) in the final period.
"We finally picked it up in the fourth quarter, especially defensively," said Kelly coach Kent Mangels. "It was Senior Night and we probably didn't play as well as we can, but you have to give Bell City credit. They played a very good game."
Denver Stuckey paced the Hawks with 16 points while Jim Hulshof had 15, Ben Klipfel 11 and Jason Glastetter 10. All 11 of Klipfel's points came in the fourth quarter.
Bell City got 14 points from Justin Stephens, 11 from Jarod Eftink and 10 from Brandon Stewart.
Perryville 79, De Soto 67
PERRYVILLE -- Perryville clinched a second-place tie in the Jefferson County Conference and ended the regular season on a winning note by downing visiting De Soto Friday night.
The Pirates (15-10 overall, 7-2 league) got 25 points from Paul Weinkein, 18 coming in the second half. Josh Moll added 18 points while Tyson Brown had 12 and Todd French 10.
Gary Wood scored 26 points for De Soto, but only five came after halftime.
Perryville rallied from a 19-14 first-quarter deficit to grab a 35-33 halftime lead.
"It was a big win for us," said Perryville coach Dean Lewis.
St. Vincent 84, Meadow Heights 51
PERRYVILLE -- After only two wins in its first 20 games, St. Vincent won its third straight game Friday night by romping at home.
Sophomore Ryan Prost netted a game-high 20 points for St. Vincent (5-18). He was followed by Chad Winkler with 15, Josh Wheeler with 14 and Kyle Eggers with 12.
St. Vincent led 35-31 at halftime and put the Panthers away with a 23-6 scoring advantage in the third quarter for a 58-37 lead.
"It was probably one of our better quarters of the year offensively," said St. Vincent coach Bruce Valleroy.
Jeremy Heine scored 19 points for Meadow Heights (3-17) and Kevin Weaver finished with 11.
Oran 65, Chaffee 37
ORAN -- Oran won its third straight game by crushing visiting Chaffee Friday night.
The Eagles (13-10) were paced by Ricky Eftink with 23 points and Dustin Dannenmueller with 11.
Chaffee (2-18) got 11 points from Dewayne McAllister.
Oran led 19-8 after one quarter and 31-13 at halftime.
Delta 72, Leopold 37
DELTA -- Delta held Leopold to just 11 first-half points and cruised to a home-court victory Friday night.
Delta (17-7) held a 23-11 lead at halftime and blew the game open in the third quarter with a 25-11 scoring advantage.
Garrett DeBrock netted 27 points to lead Delta while Shawn Kinder added 14 and Greg Voelker had 13.
Brian Holzum scored 19 for Leopold (3-17).
Scott County 90, Advance 76
MORLEY -- Despite 33 points by Advance sophomore Garrett Broshuis, Scott County Central cruised past the visiting Hornets Friday night.
The Braves (11-11) were led by John Fort with 23 points. Also in double figures were James Jones with 16, Jreece Johnson with 14, Todd Blissett with 13 and Earl Winfield with 10.
Gary Ahern added 19 points for the Hornets (8-16).
Scott Central led 40-27 at halftime and 67-46 entering the final period.
Oak Ridge 80, Zalma 70
OAK RIDGE -- Oak Ridge built up a 61-40 lead after three quarters and held off visiting Zalma Friday night.
The Blue Jays (3-17) got 20 points from Darren Hahs, 16 from both Matt Preusser and Brent Schreiner and 14 from Eric Hobeck.
Zalma (4-17) was paced by Tim Burchett with 22 points and Josh Smith with 12.
