Maurice Davis has done it again. Maurice Davis has done it again.

The Kelly senior successfully defended his state title in the 100-meter dash, finishing the race in 10.87 seconds at the Class 2 state track and field championships Saturday in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Davis also added a second-place finish in the 200 (22.50), an event in which he placed fifth a year ago, and a seventh-place finish in the triple jump (41 feet, 2 inches). Skyline's Madison Davis took first in the 200, edging Maurice Davis by .09 seconds.

Davis was once again the only runner to finish the 100 in under 11 seconds.

Senior Cole Schlief led the way for Woodland, nabbing second in the long jump with a leap of 21-9, while St. Vincent senior Levi Krauss took third in both the 1,600 (4:37.52) and the 3,200 (9:57.23).

The Kelly boys team finished 11th in the team standings with 20 points, while Woodland placed 15th with 17 points. Skyline (65) took home the team crown, followed by Cleveland NJROTC (53) in second and Bourbon (37) in third.

In Class 1, Zalma senior Peyton Ford earned a third-place finish in the boys 3,200 with a time of 9:59.47. St. Vincent's Delia Lowman, a senior, finished fourth in the girls 300 hurdles with a time of 49.08.

North Andrew notched 51 points to take the Class 1 boys title, while Mound City claimed the girls championship with 72.5 points.
