SCOTT CITY -- Scott City High's injury-plagued boys basketball team continued to hit the skids Tuesday night as Kelly came on to the Rams' home court and pulled out a wild 75-73 victory in double overtime.

The Rams, who at one point were 17-1, have now lost three out of their last four as they fell to 18-4. Jon Beck, the squad's top outside shooter, is injured and out for at least another week.

"We've had injury problems and we've had one starter out three of the last four games, but we're not making excuses," said Scott City coach Derek McCord. "Kelly played a really good game and they deserve a lot of credit."

Ben Klipfel scored 19 points to lead Kelly (11-9). Clark Cossou had 17 and Denver Stuckey added 16.

Scott City got 25 points from Dustin Cauble, 24 from Chris Sisk and 11 from both Tim Lowery and David Inman.

The Rams bolted to a 23-13 lead after one quarter before Kelly rallied back.

Both squads will return to action Friday, Scott City hosting Bloomfield and Kelly hosting Portageville.

Perryville 59

St. Pius 23

PERRYVILLE -- Perryville allowed only 14 points through the first three quarters in capturing its 18th win in a row, a 59-23 Jefferson County Conference victory Tuesday night over visiting St. Pius.

Perryville, now 22-1, has a chance to tie the school record for wins at home Friday against Windsor.

"Defensively we played very well," said Perryville coach Rick Francis. "We did a good job of controlling the tempo. It was perfect for us."

Matt Meyr and Scott Kassel each scored 16 points for Perryville, while Bruce Weinkein added 12.

Perryville opened a 14-9 lead in the first quarter and led 30-13 at the half. The Pirates held an 18-1 scoring advantage in the third quarter for a 48-14 lead.

Chaffee 66

Leopold 61

LEOPOLD -- Grant Biler had the hot hand for Chaffee, hitting five 3-pointers as the Red Devils picked up a road win Tuesday night.

Biler scored 13 of his game-high 23 points in the first quarter, accounting for all but five of the Red Devils' 18 points. Chaffee led 18-17 after the first quarter and led 37-32 at halftime. Chaffee (4-12) took a 49-44 lead into the final eight minutes, where it outscored Leopold 18-17.

Jeremy Yarbro added 18 points for Chaffee. Leopold's top two scorers, Calvin Horrell, 17 points, and Matt Beussink, 16 points, both fouled out. Lariedon Engelen added 13 for the Wildcats (7-9).

Chaffee returns to action next Tuesday when Delta visits. Leopold hosts Puxico Thursday.

Dexter 84

Bell City 57

BELL CITY -- Dexter's Adam Lambert broke loose for 32 points as Dexter rolled past host Bell City Tuesday night.

Nate Wills countered with 19 points for Bell City (6-10) while Jacob Jenkins tossed in 10 points.

"We didn't play much defense on (Lambert), and he took it to us," said Bell City coach Scott Kruse. "He's a good player."

Dexter jumped out to a 21-9 lead by the close of the first quarter and held a commanding 42-20 lead at halftime.

Bell City will host Woodland Friday.

Advance 42

ADVANCE -- Shawn Massa hit all five of his 3-pointers and 21 of his game-high 25 points in the second half to lead Woodland to a victory on the road Tuesday night.

Travis Whitener scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half as Woodland (13-7) built on a seven point, 21-14, halftime lead.

Brock Cato and Matt DeJournett each scored 10 points for Advance (12-8).

"The Massa boy got unconscious in the second half," said Advance coach Derek Urhahn. "We tried to stop him outside and then the Whitener boy hurt us inside."

Advance will visit Delta Friday while Woodland visits Bell City.

Charleston 65

Delta 54

DELTA -- Delta put up a stern challenge but powerful Charleston prevailed on the road Tuesday night.

The Blue Jays (20-3) got 29 points from Rashad Oliver and 12 from Howard Biles.

Delta (12-9) was paced by Sammy Below with 16 points. Also in double figures were Jeremiah Cook with 11 and Garrett DeBrock with 10.

Charleston led just 17-16 after one quarter and 37-33 at halftime.

Delta hosts Advance Friday while Charleston hosts Poplar Bluff.

Hillsboro 71

St. Vincent 64

HILLSBORO -- Hillsboro held off a St. Vincent rally to defeat the visiting Indians in Jefferson County Conference play Tuesday night.

Kurt Wilson scored 24 points to lead Hillsboro.

Jason Cissell scored a team-high 18 for St. Vincent (7-13, 3-5) while Jonathan Wengert netted 17 and Chad Winkler deposited 15.

Hillsboro outscored St. Vincent in each of the first three quarters and took a 48-35 lead into the fourth quarter. St. Vincent rallied to within three points with a minute left, but couldn't close the gap.

Oak Ridge will visit St. Vincent next Tuesday.

Richland 86, Oran 66

ORAN -- Anthony Herrion poured in a game-high 30 points as Richland defeated host Oran Tuesday night.

Richland blanked Oran (4-12) in the first quarter, building a 15-0 lead and led by 19 points, 34-15, at intermission.

Travis Bickings scored 12 points for Oran, which hosts Leopold Friday.

Oak Ridge 70, Meadow Heights 56

PATTON -- Kirt Ruehling scored 24 points as Oak Ridge pulled away from host Meadow Heights in the second half Tuesday night.

Oak Ridge held just a 34-31 halftime lead before outscoring Meadow Heights 36-25 in the second half.

Matt Preusser added 16 points for Oak Ridge (5-10, 2-0 conference) and Aric Curry netted 15. Kevin Weaver scored a game-high 20 points for Meadow Heights.
