Kelly girls reach final with 20th win

Second-seeded Kelly advanced to the finals of the Class 3 District 1 tournament with a 57-26 win over sixth-seeded St. Vincent on Monday night at Bloomfield High School.

Kelly held a 25-11 lead at halftime and extended the lead in the third quarter.

Kelly Essner led the Hawks (20-6) with 24 points. Mindy Robert added 12.

The defending district champion Hawks will play top-seeded Charleston at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Charleston edged Woodland 66-62 in the other semifinal.

Cortney Glastetter led the Cardinals (10-15) with 21 points, and Elisha Glastetter had 14.

Missy Whitney scored 32 points for Charleston (19-6), Shytoria Davis had 19 and Fleater Quinn scored 11.
