Jackson High School made a good showing at the 1999 SEMO Cross Country Conference Meet Oct. 16.
The varsity girls took second in conference, while the varsity boys placed fourth. The junior varsity boys and girls teams both took second in conference.
Laura Unverferth, Julie Wunderlich and Carol Koening earned all-conference honors for the girls, placing third, fourth and fifth respectively. Unverferth clocked in at 21:42, Wunderlich at 21:53 and Koenig at 22:09.
For the boys, Josh Minson and Zach Friedrich earned all-conference distinction. Minson finished fourth, with an 18:04 time, while Friedrich was 10th (18:42).The Indians' Bryan Stroer won the boys junior varsity race. Stroer clocked in first, with a 20:01 time. Lee Strickert placed eighth, at 20:55.
The JV girls' race saw Jennifer Stiegemeyer make all-conference honors with an eighth place finish.
At the North County Middle School Invitational at Desloge, meanwhile, Kyle Rhodes led the boys with a 29th place finish (12:51). The girls got a 14th place performance from Beth Tate (14:06) and 16th place by Chelsea Walker (14:12).
