Jake Leet came out like a house on fire in the championship game of the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament on Saturday night in the Show Me Center.

Leet, a senior guard, scored all 11 of Jackson's points in the first period and finished with a 31-point performance to lead the Indians to the tournament championship with a 61-53 victory against Notre Dame.

The victory was Jackson's first in the title game since 2004 after suffering losses the last two years.

"He shot us out of the gym tonight," Notre Dame's Ryan Willen said of Leet. "He moves really well on offense and when he gets those open shots, he knocks them down."

His teammates know it.

"He knows how to get open," Jackson's Spencer Goodman said. "If we get a rebound, he's going to look for the open spot and we get him the ball."

Leet finished the tournament as Jackson's leading scorer with 84 points, and he was named to the all-tournament team.
