JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Eli Jenkins threw for 212 yards and two scores and ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns as Jacksonville State overwhelmed Murray State 42-20 on Saturday.
The Gamecocks clinched their fifth Ohio Valley Conference championship last week with a 56-28 win over Southeast Missouri State.
The only time Jenkins wasn't involved in a score for Jacksonville State (10-1, 8-0 Ohio Valley Conference) was when Troymaine Pope ran 22 yards for the first touchdown of the game.
Jenkins' fumble led to the Racers' first touchdown when Demetrius Mason recovered the ball at the Gamecocks' 1 and scored to make it 21-13 with 9:51 left in the third quarter.
Jenkins iced the game on the next possession, leading Jacksonville State on a four-play, 82-yard drive that ended with his 24-yard touchdown run.
KD Humphries was 22 for 45 for 286 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Roman Clay had 23 carries for 90 yards for Murray State (3-8, 2-6 OVC).
CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Malik Harrison and Jalen Whitlow each ran for one touchdown, and Eastern Illinois forced seven turnovers in a victory over Eastern Kentucky.
Whitlow opened the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. On Eastern Kentucky's first possession of the second half, Nick Horne returned a fumble for a 62-yard touchdown.
Harrison's 9-yard touchdown run made it 21-0 with 4:35 left in the third.
Harrison had 13 carries for 79 yards for Eastern Illinois (7-4, 7-1 OVC). Whitlow was 8-of-21 passing for 72 yards and added 26 yards rushing.
Tyler Swafford threw for 99 yards and was intercepted four times for Eastern Kentucky (6-5, 5-3 OVC). Six of the Colonels' turnovers came in the second half, including two fumbles.
Tyrell Curry returned a blocked punt 35 yards for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Ladarius Vanlier ran for 132 yards on 13 carries with two first-quarter touchdowns, including a 79-yarder, to help lead Tennessee Tech past Tennessee State.
Brock McCoin finished with 65 yards rushing to go along with his 60 yards passing with a touchdown. He threw a 17-yard fourth quarter scoring strike to Krys Cates which gave Tennessee Tech a crucial two possession lead (30-21). Lane Clark drilled an 18-yard field goal for Tennessee State to trim the lead to 30-24, but the Tigers could not get over the hump. Their final drive ended in a turnover on downs after O'Shay Ackerman-Carter threw an incomplete pass to Patrick Smith.
Tennessee Tech (4-7, 3-5 OVC) led 23-14 at the half.
Ackerman-Carter threw for 221 yards to lead Tennessee State (4-6, 1-6 OVC), which lost despite outgaining the Golden Eagles by nearly 100 yards (344-265).
