Jackson senior Blake Smith won the long jump at the Missouri Relays on Saturday in Columbia, Mo., setting a new meet record with a leap of 22 feet, 7 inches.

Smith's jump, which tied the school record, led several strong performances by Jackson athletes.

Brandon Wright finished second in the 400 meters in 51.08 seconds, while Chris Reed took third in the pole vault (12-6) and Blake Stone placed fourth (11-5).

Taylor Dickerson finished second in both the 1,600 (5:09.37) and 3,200 (11:27.40) in the girls competition. Paden Wachter also had a pair of runner-up finishes, placing second in both the discus (126-8) and shot put (125-8).

Jordan Jeffers led a split squad at the Holt Invitational in Wentzville, Mo., placing first in the pole vault (11-6). The 3,200-relay team of Adam Brown, Calvin Lysell, Austin Koenig and Riley Talbut finished second. Talbut placed third in the 3,200 (10:26.71), while Lysell placed fourth in the 800 (2:08.99). Luke Stevens was fourth in the discus (121-11).

Sierra Maddox also had a fourth place in the girls pole vault (9-0).
