Jackson's late-inning rally beats Perryville

Jackson's softball team rallied past visiting Perryville on Monday by scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 4-3 win.

Leslie McNeely's triple tied the contest, and McNeely later scored the winning run when Hana Bolen walked with the bases loaded.

Trisha Kluesner went 3-for-3 to lead Jackson (8-14). McNeely and Jessica Pitts both had two of the Indians' nine hits. Hannah Fowler was the winning pitcher.

Becky Bachmann had two of Perryville's six hits.

Sarah Cook pitched a two-hit shutout, with six strikeouts and one walk, as Delta slipped past visiting Clearwater.

The Bobcats (13-8), who had just three hits, scored their only run in the second inning as Sara Blattel's bases-loaded walk drove in Jenny Dannenmueller.

Notre Dame squeezed out a three-game home victory and raised its record to 17-2-1.

Amanda Essner led the Bulldogs with 12 kills while Laura Browne had 10 kills and seven blocks. Lauren Mehner served 13 points, Allison Essner had 16 assists, and Amber Karnes added 10 assists and five blocks.

Notre Dame's JV won in two games.

Scott City 33-25

Sikeston 31-23

Scott City improved to 14-6 with a tough two-game home triumph.

Kacie Cartwright had eight kills, seven digs and six aces for the Rams. Also solid were Jenny Heisserer (six kills, seven digs), Abbie Cook (five kills, five blocks), Jenny Glency (five kills) and Lindsey Amick (19 assists).

The Rams won the JV match 25-20, 25-17.

Farmington 25-25

Jackson 22-19

Jackson lost at home to a strong Farmington team.

Amanda Peiffer had a strong defensive game with eight blocks. Rebecca Martin added six kills, and Natalie Koeper led the Indians (11-4-3) with nine digs.

Jackson's JV (7-4-4) lost 25-16, 25-21.

Dexter 25-23-19

Advance won in three games at home.

Kacie Ritter and Kaci Cooper led the Hornets (11-6-1) with seven kills apiece. Leslie Rainey had nine digs, Ritter added eight digs and 13 assists, and Cooper had two blocks.

Advance's JV lost 25-23, 12-25, 25-22.

Bell City 25-25

Central 9-18

Central fell to 3-15 as Bell City coasted to a road victory.

The Tigers received two kills from both Laura Burdick and Melissa Espinoza. Ashton Gerlach served two aces.

Bell City's JV won 25-8, 25-17.

Oak Ridge 25-25

Saxony Lutheran 19-9

Oak Ridge swept first-year varsity program Saxony Lutheran on the road.

Kelsey Schaper led Oak Ridge (6-14) with four kills and added two aces. Whitney Roberts added three kills and four digs, and Erin Hahs had three blocks and two aces.

Oak Ridge's JV won 25-19, 25-9.

Peoples Christian 10-25-25

Eagle Ridge Christian 25-18-13

Eagle Ridge lost in three at home.

Autumn Crowden led the Eagles with 14 points and five kills. Chelsea Clark added seven assists and three kills.

Notre Dame 8, De Soto 1

Notre Dame trailed 1-0 in the first half before scoring eight straight goals to win on the road.

Abe Dirnberger led the Bulldogs with three goals. Mark Unterreiner added two goals. Bryce Willen, Jason Delgado and Andrew Bertrand also scored for Notre Dame. Assists went to Elliot Vance, Blake Essner, Willen (2), Delgado (2), Frankie Ellis and Andrew Buelow.

Notre Dame's JV won 7-0. Abe Dirnberger (2), Jack Wedeimier, Ryan Willen, Ty Williams, Austin Gelsheimer and Jordan Buchheight scored for Notre Dame. Williams (2), Gelsheimer (2), Willen, Dirnberger and Brett Heidsheimt had assists.

Poplar Bluff 5, Jackson 2

Jackson (6-8) fell behind 4-0 in the second half and could not recover on the road.

Chris Bramlett and Cory Murphy scored for Jackson. Tyler Sprandel and Bramlett assisted.

The JV game ended in a 0-0 tie.
