Jackson's AAU/USA youth wrestling team recently qualified eight wrestlers for the Missouri USA State Wrestling Championships, including three who finished fifth place or better.

Cody Rouse won the state championship, winning all four of his matches at state and finishing his record at 38-1. He also won the AAU state championship, recently held in St. Louis

Justin Miller took fourth place and finished his season at 19-9; and Blake Ulrich took fifth after placing fourth in the AAU state tournament. He ended his season at 38-8.

Joining Miller, Ulrich and Rouse as state qualifiers were Andrew Berghoff, Justin Darnell, Anthony Scholl, John Mosby and Michael Rush.

To qualify for the tournament, each wrestler placed in the top four of his region.

More than 1,000 wrestlers competed at the championships at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo.
