FARMINGTON -- Jackson High's heavier weights extended a heavy streak.
Jackson's wrestling team overcame an early deficit and beat Farmington on the road 42-27 Tuesday night.
The win completed Jackson's regular season at 8-0 in dual meets. It was the Indians' fourth straight undefeated season.
Jackson has won 46 straight duals. The school record is 52 straight wins.
"I'm really proud of the team; we've had a really good season," said Jackson coach Steve Wachter, who is 26-0 as a head coach at Jackson. "We wrestled well against some outstanding competition."
Jackson lost six of the first nine matches to Farmington's tough lighter weights. The Indians won the last five matches to secure the victory.
"It was a tough dual meet," said Wachter. "Farmington has an outstanding team and their 112- and 119-pounders could both win state championships."
Farmington's 112-pounder T.J Hill, a junior who has never lost a high school match and is a two-time state champion, is ranked No. 4 in the world in freestyle wrestling. Josh Buchanan is the 119-pounder.
Jackson won the matches at 103, 130 and 135. The Indians then won at 160, 171, 189, 215 and heavyweight in succession.
The Indians will compete in the Class 4A district meet Saturday at Lindbergh High in St. Louis.
