The Jackson track and field program enjoyed a big day Wednesday.

Jackson romped to titles in both the boys and girls divisions at the SEMO North Conference meet in Sikeston.

Jackson's boys recorded nine first-place performances while the girls were first in 11 events.

Brannon Wright was a triple individual winner for Jackson's boys, capturing the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes.

Central's boys had a pair of double individual winners. Billy Leighton took the 1,600 and 3,200 runs while Chris Martin claimed the long and triple jumps.

Double individual winners for Jackson's girls were Chelsea Drum in the 800 and 1,600, and Paden Wachter in the shot put and discus.

Central posted two wins late Tuesday at Notre Dame to capture fifth place in the SEMO Conference Tournament.

The Tigers (8-18) beat Kennett 7-4 in the consolation semifinals, then routed New Madrid County Central 11-1 in five innings in the consolation final.

Matt Chism was the winning pitcher against Kennett.

Sean Magee notched the victory against NMCC. Calvin Lovig, Chase Hagerty and Kyle Thompson all had two hits for the Tigers.
