Softball Saxony Lutheran 3, Twin Rivers 2

The Crusaders collected their first win in dramatic fashion on a two-out, two-run infield single in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Saxony, with runners at second and third, was down to its last strike when Brooke Valleroy dribbled a pitch down the first-base line. Twin Rivers players backed off the roller, but it never went foul.

"She barely hit the ball," Saxony coach Tali Hoffstetter said. "It looked like it was going foul, but it kept spinning inward and kept spinning. We thought it was going to go foul too. We kept sending everbody, and it was a good thing, because it never went foul. It was exciting."
