At this time of the year, there are basically two types of wrestlers left -- those who are on a roll and those who have rolled over just about everybody.

Jackson has both types.

The Indians will be sending seven wrestlers to the state meet today at the Hearnes Center in Columbia located on the campus of the University of Missouri. Matches will take place today and Friday, with the state champions to be decided on Saturday. The top six wrestlers in each weight class will be named all-state.

The remaining wrestlers are among the top 16 left in their respective weight classes.

Ricky Feiner (112), Brett Stroud (125), Cyle Huck (130), Adam Wachter (140), James Love (152), Ray Goodson (215) and Spencer Hobeck (heavyweight) will represent Jackson in Columbia. It is the most wrestlers Jackson has sent to the state meet since the school moved up to Class 4A.

Of the seven, four of them have been dominating their competition throughout the entire season.

Wachter (32-4) and Stroud (34-3) each took first place at sectionals last weekend. Goodson (32-3) and Huck (30-7) each took second.

Love (29-13), Hobeck (28-12) and Feiner (26-12) have been solid all season, but peaked late in the season and advanced to the state meet.

"Stroud, Huck and Goodson all have a good chance because they placed high in the sectional and will have an easier draw," said Jackson coach Steve Wachter.

Jackson will also be trying to place as a team.

"If three or four can get through, we could get in the top 10," Steve Wachter said. "We'll know Friday where we're at."
