Central 58, Farmington 55

Central avenged a 22-point loss to Farmington from earlier this season by winning on the road.

Eli Harris scored 28 points to lead the Tigers (3-4). Garrett Ozbun added 10 points and Alex Ray scored nine. Only the five starters scored the Central, which used 12 players.

Central forced 15 turnovers in the second half and 24 for the game.

"Our defense has been consistent for us this year," Central coach Derek McCord said. "I think this shows were starting to come togther and play better."

Central, which has won three of its last four, plays its first home game Wednesday against Kennett.

"I think these early road games helped us," McCord said.

Sikeston 71, Notre Dame 64

Sikeston led by as much as 22-8 in the first quarter and held off Notre Dame for a SEMO Conference decision.

Notre Dame (2-5) had closed within two points in the third period but never overtook Sikeston (4-3).

Junior guard Kash Bratcher scored 18 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Sikeston. Junior forward Rod Moore added 16 points. Senior forward Drew Cole had 10 points.

Notre Dame was led by Jeremy Brinkmeyer's 20 points. Kirk Boeller added 11 points.

Sikeston led 24-16 after one quarter and 39-35 at halftime. They extended the lead to 52-43 heading into the fourth quarter and led by as much as 12 in the fourth quarter.

The game was sloppy, as the two teams combined for 44 fouls and 55 free throws.

Jeff Daugherty poured in 22 points to lead Chaffee to victory at home.

With the win, the Red Devils doubled their victory total of last season, when the team was 1-22.

"They played very well," first-year Chaffee coach Tyson Moyers. "They're playing hard and doing what they need to do."

Chaffee (2-3 and 2-1 in the Mississippi Valley Conference) converted 17 free throws to Zalma's nine while drawing 22 fouls.

Notre Dame lost on the road at St. Louis University High on Friday, while picking up four first-place finishes.

Notre Dame's Jameson Kuper won the 200-meter freestyle in 1 minute, 51.63 seconds and captured the 100-meter freestyle in a state-qualifying time of 50.83 seconds.

Kuper teamed with Edward Doyle, Justin Voss and Joe Graves in the 200-meter free relay, getting a first-place time of 1:43.92 seconds. Kuper swam again in the 400-meter free relay with Voss, Adam Reinagel and Josh Buchheit, coming in first with a time of 3:53.69.
