OAK RIDGE -- Jackson raised its record to 11-3-4 by sweeping host Oak Ridge 15-4, 15-4 Monday night.
Chrissi Glastetter, Valerie Jansen and Andrea Koeper each had five kills for Jackson while Jennifer Ellis added 12 assists.
"We played well," said Jackson coach Nancy Ellis. "We came out and were able to close the door quick."
Oak Ridge's JV won 10-15, 15-7, 17-15
Both squads are right back in action tonight, Jackson hosting Sikeston and Oak Ridge visiting Meadow Heights.
Perryville 15-15
Scott City 2-6
SCOTT CITY -- Perryville inched closer to the .500 mark with a road victory over Scott City Monday night.
The Lady Pirates (6-7-3) got eight points and seven kills from Renee Kaempfe, seven points and four kills from Laura Ernst, seven points and eight assists from Amy Verseman and seven assists from Shannon Dryer.
Perryville's JV also won 3-15, 15-3, 15-7.
Scott City visits Oran tonight while Perryville hosts Herculaneum.
Bell City 15-15
Puxico 4-7
PUXICO -- Bell City continued its strong season with a comfortable road victory Monday night.
Courtney Brockmeyer led the attack with seven kills and April Jackson and Jessica Shelby both added five kills. Leslie Lee dished out 15 assists and Heather Riley led the defensive effort with eight digs.
Puxico won the JV contest 15-11, 15-11.
Bell City (12-1-1) visits Dexter Thursday.
Zalma 15-15
Oran 10-9
ORAN -- Oran fell to 0-9 by losing at home to Zalma Monday night.
Zalma JV also prevailed 15-2, 15-4.
Oran hosts Scott City tonight while Zalma visits Malden.
SOFTBALL
Perryville 6, Herculaneum 0
PERRYVILLE -- Carrie Preston threw seven shutout innings as Perryville won the Jefferson County home game Monday.
Preston allowed five hits, struck out six and walked one.
Perryville (9-6) lashed out eight hits, including a two-hit, two-RBI performance by Sara Hadler. Jenny Dunker added an RBI triple.
Perryville visits Cape Central today.
Shawnee 3, Kelly 2
SHAWNEE, Ill. -- Kelly ran into a hot pitcher and suffered its third loss of the season here Monday.
Shawnee's Misty Jamison hurled a four-hitter and struck out nine to draw the praise of Kelly coach Rhonda Evans, whose team fell to 7-3.
"They had a real good pitcher," said Evans. "She had a good rise ball and she got us nine times on it."
Losing pitcher Kim Riley also performed well, allowing just four hits while fanning seven.
Kelly's offense was led by Ashley Beggs with a solo home run and Kim Riley with an RBI single.
The Lady Hawks play at Poplar Bluff today.
GIRLS TENNIS
Cape Central 8, Dexter 1
DEXTER -- Central's Lady Tigers improved their dual-match record to 7-0 by beating host Dexter Monday.
The Lady Tigers also won the JV match 9-0.
"We played pretty well," said Central coach Annette Slattery. "Dexter has a good team."
Central plays at Sikeston today.

In improving to 1-7, Chaffee won all six singles matches. The only loss came in No. 1 doubles.
"Hopefully now we can take success into the next match," said Chaffee coach Amanda Horrell.
Chaffee returns to action Wednesday at Sikeston.

JV FOOTBALL
Cape Central 30, Farmington 20
Donnie McClinton broke loose for touchdown runs of 70, 60 and 25 yards Monday as the Tigers rallied from a 14-0 deficit to remain unbeaten.
After Farmington scored touchdowns in the first and second quarters, quarterback Brian McDowell hooked up with Ross Conner for a 60-yard scoring pass. McClinton ran in the two-point conversion to cut the lead to 14-8 by halftime.
Central (3-0) moved ahead in the third quarter as McClinton, a sophomore, broke his 60-yard run and added a 25-yard romp. McClinton ran in the conversion after the latter TD for a 22-14 Tiger lead.
Farmington scored with five minutes left in the game but failed on the two-point attempt. McClinton, who finished with 195 yards on 20 carries, sealed the game with a 70-yard TD run. He ran in the conversion for the final score.
Central's JV visits Carbondale next Monday.
