The Jackson softball team's season came to an end in an extra-inning affair Thursday in Class 4 District 1 action.
After both teams scored in the fifth inning, Krystal Henson drove in the game-winning run in the top of the eighth to lead Sikeston to the 2-1 victory.
The Indians threatened in the bottom of the eighth when Tory Smith led off with a single and moved to second on an error. But a popped up bunt and a pair of ground outs ended the contest.
"We just missed the bunt, popped it up," Jackson coach Amanda Forester said. "That really kills you."
Megan Dockins knocked in Jackson's lone run.
"I am proud of all these kids and they have done great," Forester said. "I have six seniors this year and you know, they have been awesome."
