Hannah Thompson kept Sikeston's offense in check, and Jackson's softball team took advantage of an error and a walk to earn the win Monday.
Thompson allowed no runs on eight hits, struck out four batters and walked one in the 2-0 win.
Thompson led off the scoring for the Indians (5-8) in the second inning after reaching on a single. She came in to score when Jessica Jones hit a line drive to the right fielder, who committed an error allowing Thompson to score.
In the third inning, Ashley Cook walked then stole second before Tory Smith drove her in with a single.
"We played a lot better," Jackson coach Amanda Forester said. "I still think we're coming around and I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks. We keep improving."

The Cardinals won the first game but couldn't maintain the momentum.
Lauren Johnson paced Woodland with 10 kills, while Kaitlin McCormick added eight. Becky Brannon finished with 23 assists.

Josh Hadler recorded eight saves to help the Pirates keep their perfect record intact.

Andrew Etzold tallied four goals to lead the Crusaders to victory.
Garrett Fritsche, Brent Rodewald, Bryant Steffens and Shawn Hadler all added one goal.
Ross Gage finished with three assists to help Saxony Lutheran improve to 8-2.
