Morgan Riddick posted the shutout in goal as Jackson beat the Perryville girls soccer team 3-0 on Tuesday.

Carbondale, Ill. 3, Notre Dame 0

Katherine Blasiney made seven saves, but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs fell at home.

Notre Dame (5-1) returns to action today against Jackson.

Notre Dame Open

The Notre Dame boys captured first place in their home meet.

Taylor Essner led the host Bulldogs with first-place finishes in both hurdle events. Logan Davis also captured firsts in the 1,600 and 3,200.

Saxony Lutheran finished third. Trevor Mabuce won both the 100 and 200 for the Crusaders.

On the girls side, Scott City's Stephanie Essner won the 100, 200 and 400.

Saxony's Cassie Simpher finished second behind Essner in all three events.

Jill Schnurbusch led Notre Dame with two first-place finishes -- the high jump and pole vault.
