The Jackson boys basketball team rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to defeat Dexter 61-57 in the consolation semifinals at the SEMO Conference tournament in Sikeston on Thursday night.

Jackson (1-1) scored 28 points in third period to turn a 30-16 deficit into a 44-44 tie. The Indians led by as much as nine in the final period before holding off Dexter.

"In the second half, we came out and played great defense and didn't give them anything easy," Jackson coach Darrin Scott said. "We started being more patient on offense and started making that extra pass."

Cody Green scored 15 points to lead Jackson. He hit two 3-pointers, including one that put Jackson ahead 61-57 with 4 minutes remaining in the game after the Indians had lost their nine-point lead.

Andrew Shrum added 13 for Jackson.

The Indians play Central at 5:30 p.m. today in the consolation final.

Chaffee tournament

Second-seeded Delta defeated third-seeded East Prairie 39-32 in a semifinal to advance to the championship game.

Jodi Menz led the Bobcats with 16 points and Taylor Smith added 10 for Delta, which will face top-seeded Kelly at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

In a consolation semifinal, No. 6 Chaffee beat No. 7 Sikeston 60-50 behind 20 points from Amber Kirk and 12 from Hannah Bedwell.

Also Saturday, East Prairie and No. 4 Scott City will play for third place at 3 p.m., while Chaffee will meet No. 5 Oran at 1:30 p.m. for the consolation title.
