Jackson Post 158 was thrusted into the loser's bracket at the Zone 4 Senior Legion Tournament following Friday's loss but was able to prevail in thrilling fashion Saturday and advance back to the championship game, where it fell once again to the hosts and ended its season in Ste. Genevieve.

Jackson was upended Friday by top-seeded Ste. Genevieve Post 150 in a 13-3 decision, bounced back Saturday with a 6-5, 10-inning victory over Eureka Post 177 and dropped another 13-3 decision against Post 150 later in the night.

Paris Johnson hit two solo home runs and finished 3-for-4 in Post 158's win over Eureka. He put Jackson (25-10) on the board with a solo shot to left in the top of the second before delivering a game-winning shot to left in the top of the 10th.

Drew Brown provided a two-run single to center for Post 158 during a four-run top of the fourth.

Facing a 5-2 deficit, Post 177 rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Nathan Hurst got the pitching start for Jackson and didn't factor into the decision after seven innings of work. He allowed five runs (three earned) on 12 hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Brown threw 1 1/3 hitless innings with two walks before Garrett Thele was credited with the win in 1 2/3 innings of work, allowing one hit with no runs allowed and a pair of walks.

Landon Pehle added two hits for Post 158.

Eureka, which combined for 13 hits in the game, had five different players record multiple hits, including Zac Husman, who finished 3-for-4.

Austin Sims took the pitching loss for Post 177 in five innings of work. He scattered one hit, gave up one earned run and issued one walk.

Johnson provided two of Jackson's five hits in the late-night loss to Ste. Genevieve.

Thele was tagged with the loss on the mound, allowing four runs (all earned) on five hits with one walk in 2/3 innings of work. Brown, Zach Elfrink and Triston Thele all appeared in relief.

Nick Oberle threw a complete game and was credited with the win on the mound for Post 150. He struck out two batters, walked two and gave up three runs (one earned) on five hits.

Southeast Missouri State commit Connor Basler finished 3-for-4 to lead Ste. Genevieve at the plate.

On Friday, Post 150 rallied from a 3-2 deficit with nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to break things open, finishing with 14 hits.

Jackson did itself no favors with five errors, including one during the seventh.

Post 158 scored one run in each of the first, second and fifth innings. Hurst drove in Brown in the bottom of the fifth to take a 3-2 lead.

It didn't hold, as Elfrink took the loss on the mound, giving up six runs (five earned) on 10 hits, striking out two and walking one in 6 1/3 innings of work.

Coley Leimbach, Triston Thele and Garrett Thele all appeared in relief.

Andrew Basler took the pitching victory for Ste. Genevieve, going eight innings and scattering seven hits while striking out four. Matt Luttrell threw one inning of scoreless relief.

The hosts' huge day at the plate was paced by Wyatt Lalumandier, who went 4-for-6 with two runs scored, three driven in and a triple.

Connor Basler was 3-for-5 with four RBIs, while Koltyn Schilly blasted a home run and had two hits and a pair or runs batted in.
