Two local girls soccer powers will square off for the title in the Noon Optimist tournament today.

Jackson and Notre Dame posted wins Friday to advance to today's 2 p.m. title game.

Sophomore Allie Penzel took a pass from sophomore Kasey Crowden to score for Jackson, lifting the Indians to a 1-0 win over St. Vincent.

Junior Morgan Riddick recorded the shutout for the Indians (3-0).

The Bulldogs knocked off Central 4-0 in the other semifinal.

Anna Wren, Brianne Sanders and Kelsey Westrich scored for the Bulldogs (2-0).

Anne Himmelberg and Katherine Blasiney switched off at goalkeeper to earn the shutout.

BASEBALL Meadow Heights 6, Advance 4

The Panthers rallied for three runs in the sixth inning to earn the road win.

Cody Kennedy improved to 1-1 on the mound this season. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate for Meadow Heights (1-1).

Matt Groves homered in the win.

Grant Gray took the loss for the Hornets.
