The Jackson American Legion baseball team committed six errors and allowed 10 unearned runs in a 10-7 road loss to Farmington on Wednesday.
Bret Groening suffered the loss for Jackson (9-11), allowing four runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief.
Zach Ayers allowed four runs off four hits through the first six innings for Jackson, and Austin Morrison allowed two runs in relief of Groening.
Despite a rocky defensive performance, Jackson hammered out 12 hits, led by Ryan Cheney with three. Groening, Brandon Cooper and Geoff Enders had two hits apiece.
Jackson will travel to Paducah, Ky., for a three-day tournament today, taking on the host squad at 8 p.m.
The Cape Girardeau Junior Legion team swept a District 14 doubleheader from host Jackson, winning 6-2 and 12-6.
In the opener, Cape (4-3 district) received two hits and three RBIs from Alex Shell and two hits from Blake Smith. Mark Himmelberg was the winning pitcher.
Joe Graham and Ross McCleod both had two hits in the nightcap as Tyler Brandt got the win.
On Tuesday, Cape split with Imperial, winning 10-4 and losing 14-2.
Dylan Schweer was the winning pitcher in the opener. Himmelberg had three hits and two RBIs, while Joe Uhls had two hits and four RBIs.
Graham had two hits, including a triple, in the nightcap.
