The Jackson Post 158 Senior American Legion baseball team bounced back from just its second loss of the season in resounding fashion.
Jackson, which was beaten 8-5 at home by Ste. Genevieve Tuesday night, routed visiting House Springs 12-3 Wednesday night at Legion Field.
"It was good to bounce back. I'm glad we played the very next night," Jackson coach Mark Lewis said.
Jackson, which improved to 14-2, got a complete-game pitching performance from Steven Eddy. He allowed eight hits and one walk while striking out six over nine innings.
"He pitched well. He was laboring early and then I think he settled in," Lewis said.
Post 158 banged out 15 hits.
Cody Harris, Chase Simmons, Cody Heisserer and Laban Petzoldt led the way with two hits apiece.
Harris drove in four runs, Petzoldt had three RBIs and Simmons added two RBIs.
House Springs grabbed an early lead with two first-inning runs but Jackson took control with a six-run second inning.
Jackson continues its busy week Friday with a 6 p.m. doubleheader at Legion Field against District 14 opponent Scott County.
The Cape Girardeau freshmen Legion team was swept by visiting Jackson in a doubleheader Wednesday, 5-4 and 6-2.
Luke Wilson suffered the loss on the mound in the opener. Sean Plott had two hits for Cape (6-5).
