The Jackson Junior American Legion baseball team saw its season end Saturday night with a 9-6 loss to Dixon in an elimination game at the state tournament hosted by Jackson.

Dixon broke a 6-6 deadlock with two runs in the top of the seventh inning and added an insurance run in the seventh.

Steven Porzelt took the loss in relief, allowing four hits, three walks and two earned runs in one inning.

Joe Elfrink gave up five hits over the first 4 2/3 innings, issuing four walks and allowing six runs. Only two of the runs were earned.

Chris Hartle allowed one hit in one inning.

Trent Wills went 3 for 3 as Jackson had 11 hits overall. Elfrink was 2 for 3.

Jackson finished its season with a record of 21-23.

Jefferson City claimed the state title with an 11-9 victory against Eureka in Sunday's championship game.
