Jackson girls swimming team captures team title at Rec Center Relays

Host Jackson won the Rec Center Relays with 114 points at the Southeast Missouri State aquatic center.

The Indians won five relay events at Friday's meet.

Jericka Helton, Kyleigh Troxel, Jeanette Powell and Shelby Kate McCord combined to win the 200 medley relay, while Powell, Helton and Troxel also won the 600 medley.

Helton, Powell and Shelby Lambert won the 300 butterfly relay in 3 minutes, 51.82 seconds.

The Indians also won the 400 and 900 freestyle relays.

Central finished second with 88 points.

The Tigers posted first-place finishes in the 300 backstroke and 300 breaststroke relays.

Maddy McDonald, Maddie Siefert and Chleo LeGrand won the backstroke in 3:33.79, while LeGrand, Siefert and Meredith Caldwell teamed to win the 300 breaststroke in 4:09.88.

Notre Dame's 400 medley relay of Eva Schafer, Mary-Liz Klueppel, Morgan Morris and Katie Emmendorfer placed first to lead the Bulldogs, who finished third with 84 points.

St. Vincent and Perryville tied for fifth with 16 points apiece.

The Crusaders' 900 freestyle relay placed third, while Perryville's 300 backstroke relay finished fourth.

Saxony Lutheran placed seventh with 14 points.
