BROSELEY, Mo. -- Jackson's girls basketball team used a pair of 11 point efforts from Kelly Loos and Kylie Werner to defeat Twin Rivers 70-39 on Monday.
Coming off a third-place finish at the Farmington Tournament, the Indians jumped out to a 25-12 lead after the first quarter. Twin Rivers held a small edge in the second quarter, but Jackson put the game away with a 20-8 scoring advantage in the third quarter.
Ashley Bartels added 10 points for Jackson (3-1). Amanda Lance led Twin Rivers with 24.

Chaffee Tournament
All of the top seeds advanced in the first round of the Chaffee Tournament.
No. 1 Kelly remained unbeaten and put away No. 8 East Prairie early 69-29. Kelly scored 29 points in the first quarter and led 51-12 at halftime. Mindy Robert and Ann Buchheit led Kelly (3-0) with 13 points each. Ashley Kern added 12.
Fourth-seeded Sikeston outscored Scott City 25-6 in the second quarter and went on to win 61-40. Whitney McCray led Sikeston (2-1) with 14 points. Amanda Raines had 14 to lead Scott City (1-3).
In the final and closest game of the night, No. 2 Scott County Central defeated Oran 58-39. It was close in the final score only as Scott County led 53-24 after three quarters. Janet Penrod led Scott County with 22 points and Brittney Peet had 13. Jennifer Hoots added 12. Tiffany Glastetter led Oran (0-1) with 21 points.

Tanner Rust's second-place finish in diving was one of the few highlights for Central in a home loss.
Rust finished with a score of 158.8. Alex Heddle finished third in the 50 free (24.7) and Anton Heemskerk finished third in the breast (1:13.84). Central's 200 and 400 free relay teams each finished third. Clay Schermann, Jason Mercer, Sam Maguire and Heddle were on the 200 team. Hunter Givens, Schermann, Maguire and Heddle made up the 400 team.
Other events
The Central boys freshmen team lost both of its games against Carbondale on the road. Central dropped the "A" team (3-1) game 44-36. Matt Essner led with seven points. Central lost the "B" team (0-1) game 41-34.
