Jackson's girls soccer team avenged a shootout loss to Notre Dame earlier this season by pulling off a 1-0 win over the Bulldogs on Monday night at Jackson.

Molly Hartmann scored on a turnaround shot with about five minutes left in regulation. Jackson improved to 5-3-1, while Notre Dame took its first loss and fell to 6-1-1.

"I thought it was very even," Notre Dame coach Jeff Worley said. "Both teams had good chances to score."

Jackson goalie Kylie Werner and Notre Dame goalie Katie Palmer each made 10 saves.

Jackson's JV won 2-0.

St. Pius 1, St. Vincent 0, OT

St. Pius scored in the 86th minute to drop St. Vincent to 2-7

Michelle Herzog was forced to make 20 saves for the Squaws.

BASEBALL Oran 7, North Pemiscot 0

Matt Seyer faced only 26 batters in a dominating home performance.

Seyer struck out five, walked none and allowed one hit in seven innings. Trevor Irwin led Oran (5-0) with two hits and two RBIs.

TRACK AND FIELD Notre Dame Open

Loren Groves dominated the field at the Notre Dame Open, winning her four events --shot put, discus, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

In the team competition Poplar Bluff won both the boys and girls meets. Christy Laxton also picked up a pair of wins -- 800 and 1,600 -- for Scott City. Notre Dame saw a new school record in the 400 dash with Amber Karnes winning the event in 1:02.94. Results in Scoreboard, Page 2B.

Chaffee Open

Michael Glastetter and Tyson Glaser won multiple events for Kelly's boys, but Caruthersville won the team score at Chaffee.

Glaser won the long jump and triple jump, while Glastetter won 800, 1600 and 3200.

Caruthersville's girls edged Kelly by two points. Natalie Townsend of Chaffee won the long jump and triple jump. Results in Scoreboard, Page 2B.

GOLF

Farmington 156, Jackson 158

Eric Fraley led Jackson with a 2-over par 37 in a dual loss at Kimbeland Country Club.

Ryan Mouser shot a 39, Gabe Sauer shot a 40 and Taylor McDowell and Mick Robertson shot 42s to round out Jackson's scoring.

St. Vincent 177, De Soto 187

Zachary Richardet shot a 5-over par 40 to claim medalist as the Indians won at Perryville Country Club.

Rounding out the score for St. Vincent (2-1) were Grant Pingel (43), Scott Prost (45) and Mark Prost (49).

TENNIS Central 7, Poplar Bluff 2

Central (4-0) dropped just two sets to Poplar Bluff and won its fourth match in a row at home.
