Jackson's baseball team jumped out to a 4-0 lead and made it stick in a 4-1 win Tuesday at Chaffee.
The Indians improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the SEMO Conference. Chaffee fell to 4-3 and 2-3 in conference play.
Caleb Guilliams pitched five innings for the Indians for the win. Guilliams allowed four hits and one run, walking three and striking out two. Logan Lawson came on in the sixth with two on and no one out after Guilliams walked two straight following a stoppage in play due to lightning, but was able to get out of the inning and closed the game for the save.
Luke Crader had two hits for Jackson.
Chris Hanback had a home run for the Red Devils. Hanback took the loss after lasting just two innings. Alex Orr pitched two-hit ball over the final five innings.

TRACK AND FIELDMalden Invitational
Saxony Lutheran's boys had four first-place finishes at the Malden Invitational.
The event was called due to weather before the final two events so no team scores were available.
Brandon Etzold, Max Wieser and Ross Gage won individual events, and Saxony won the 3,200-meter relay.
On the girls side, Cassie Simpher won the 200.
