POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Farmington's Andy Mell scored on a reverse layup to force overtime and the third-seeded Knights held on from there to surprise second-seeded Jackson 57-54 in the first round of the Class 4A, District 1 boys' basketball tournament Tuesday.
Jackson (14-12) got 26 points from Tyler McNeely, including a 3-pointer with 40 seconds left in overtime that put Jackson ahead 54-53. Farmington's Chris Hayes answered with another 3-point shot that put the Knights up for good.
Seth McDowell added 12 points for Jackson.
Poplar Bluff 89, Central 63
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- The host Mules, ranked No. 5 in the state and seeded No. 1 in the 4A District 1 tournament, pushed fourth-seeded Cape Girardeau Central behind early on their way to a championship game berth.
Ryan Delph scored 25 points for the Tigers (4-21), who trailed 29-12 after the first quarter.
Notre Dame 68, St. Vincent 52
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Notre Dame (18-7) cruised to victory in its regular-season finale.
Scott Wittenborn (18), Doug Schaefer (13) and Cory Beussink (10) paced the Bulldogs.
Adam Bockman, Adrew Prost and Tyler Wengert led St. Vincent (12-10) with 15, 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Portageville 62, Scott City 49
SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- D.J. Walton had 14 points and Craig Jungers 10 for the Rams, who trailed by eight at halftime and then sliced state-ranked Portageville's 20-point lead in half in a late run.
The Rams fell to 10-13.
Leopold 41, Oak Ridge 39
OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- Leopold wrapped up the Mississippi Valley Conference championship by edging Oak Ridge.
The Wildcats (10-13, 5-1) were led by Scott VanGennip with 14 points and Kevin Holzum with 11.
The Blue Jays (8-16, 3-3) got 11 points from Adam Hahs. Zach Ruesler and Jeff Cowan added 10 apiece.
Bell City 94, Scott Co. Central 63
BELL CITY, Mo. -- Bell City raced to its 20th win of the season with four players in double figures.
Dominitrix Johnson led Bell City (20-5) with 24 points, Eric Henry had 20, Jason Rampley 17 and C.J. Hadley 17.
Chris Johnson scored 21 for Scott County Central (14-10), while Terrance Williams and Chris Pullen added 12 and 10, respectively.
Meadow Heights 73, Chaffee 61
PATTON, Mo. -- Josh Mayfield's 19 points led Meadow Heights to a wire-to-wire Mississippi Valley Conference win.
Joey Bell added 17 and Cody Thompson 14 for Meadow Heights (13-10, 3-2).
Andrew Horrell scored 19 for Chaffee (6-17, 3-3), followed by Brent Thomason with 13 and Sam Burnett with 11.
Kelly 82, Delta 77
BENTON, Mo. -- Kelly set up a Thursday night showdown with Oran for the Scott-Mississippi Conference title.
Major Burger pumped in 29 points for the Hawks (7-14, 5-0), who got 20 points from Michael Romas and 11 from Tyler Schlosser.
Delta (8-16, 0-5) got 21 points from Lance Kinder, 20 from Craig Bock, 20 from Joey Keys and 10 from Brent Menz.
Zalma 86, Greenville 74
ZALMA, Mo. -- Zalma notched its third straight behind Chad Wiseman's 30 points.
Steven McCain scored 24 and Brad McKlin had 20 for Zalma (5-17).
Jared Green led Greenville with 22.
Oran 77, Woodland 52
MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Nathan Seyer scored 29 points to lead Oran (17-6), which also got 11 points from Ryne Wood and 10 from Matt Seyer.
The Cardinals (9-12) got 19 points from Luke Johnson and 10 from Michael Owens.
Marquand 70, Valle 69
STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Heath Stephens poured in 44 points, including the game-winning layup in overtime, to lead Marquand (12-11), which also got 15 points from Jarod Kunz.

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- David Green scored 14 points from New Salem Baptist Academy (9-12).

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Chaffee, despite 25 points from Jennifer Vandeven, fell short of Malden.
Callie Meyr added 10 for Chaffee (5-16).

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Sarah Green scored 23 points, Mary Poole had 13 and Jennifer Meek added 11 New Salem Baptist Academy (14-5) romped.
