Jackson started its season on a winning note, posting a 52-51 victory over Pine Bluff, Ark., in the Riverbend Classic boys basketball event Saturday in New Madrid, Mo.
The Indians (1-0) trailed 36-25 at halftime but battled back to outscore Pine Bluff 27-15 in the second half.
Jackson managed just six points in the second quarter.
"We came out and scored early," Jackson coach Darrin Scott said. "But in the second quarter, probably 80 percent of their points they got in transition."
Drue McNeely led the Indians with 15 points, and Aaron Redecker and Hunter Grantham added nine apiece.

The Crusaders rolled out to a 20-point halftime lead in improving to 2-0 with a road victory over Christ our Savior of Evansville, Ill.
Alex Jauch paced Saxony with 20 points, while Ben Courtois finished with 10. Ten Crusaders found the scoring column.
