Jackson Babe Ruth splits doubleheader
The Jackson Senior Babe Ruth team split a doubleheader with Farmington on Saturday.
Jackson won the first game 15-6, while Farmington won the second game 7-5 in 10 innings.
Bryant Steffens tossed a complete-game victory in the first game for Jackson (16-8) to improve his record to 4-1. Steffens also collected three of Jackson's 15 hits. Ryan Bass had four hits, Garrett Fritsche and Bret Steffens both added two hits.
Jackson smashed 10 hits in the second game with Fritsche stroking four hits and Spencer Sander, Bret Steffens and Ben Rhodes stroking 2 hits each.
Capahas rained out
The Plaza Tire Capahas' doubleheader Saturday against Springfield, Ill., was canceled due to wet conditions at Capaha Field.
The Capahas (14-4) return to action today with a 1:30 p.m. doubleheader at Henderson, Tenn.
